I tried to teach A&E a little chant to teach them to spell go. It went terribly wrong. lol

Tent
I bought this tent when A&E were newborns and we lived in VA. We had a community pool and lived near the beach so I had all these visions of lounging by the water with them sleeping peacefully (and safe from the sun) in this tent. I used it once and it got so hot in it that they were uncomfortable. Every once in a while, we take it out and use it as a ballpit or just to play in. We got it out when they were sick and had been in the house for days. They loved it this time! They would sit in it and read, play with cards, and just play pretend. Unfortunately Murphy loved it too and would go sit in it which drove Avery nuts!
Avery loved it and spent a lot of time in there

They love to go over cards and books and ask each other "what's that?" "what color is it"

Park fun
A&E have been sick for what seems like forever. Tuesday we had a pretty warm dayand Andy was off work so we took A&E to the local park. Our backyard is a swamp right now (hopefully that will be fixed this week with our patio add-on) so outside time has been limited. They had been in the house for days and really enjoyed being outside and playing (even if it was a little muddy). We walked on the trail going around the park afterward and looked for squirrels. Then we played on the bridge and pretended to be the "grumpy old troll" from Dora.

They were good for 1 pose then took off to play!

Doesn't everyone ask their husband clean off the slides first?

Avery was such a big girl and climbed this thing before we realized it

Next throwing leaves & stuff from the trees seemed fun

Laundry anyone?
A&E are such big helpers with the laundry this week. They are tall enough to unload everything in the dryer and they love to help me put the wet clothes from the washer into the dryer (but I have to hand those to them). If I could just teach them to fold....
They also like to steal my laundry baskets to push around and play in together. Soon they will be too big to fit in it together.

Fun in the Dark
The other night A or E came up with the idea to play with flashlights outside. They like to announce at dinner when it is getting dark and somehow one of them came up with taking their flashlights outside in the dark. We thought that sounded like fun and Andy even dug out a glowstick to play with too! A glowstick does some weird stuff on camera when you are moving it around.

Who is this Mom person?
The new trend in this house? Calling me Mom. I mean what is up with that? I am not old enough to be Mom yet, am I? Just because I turn 3 decades old soon doesn't mean I am "Mom" yet. My kids aren't even 3 so in my mind I am still mommy or even mama. Those are both totally fine with me. Thank you E for still using those.
Mom? I don't think so, A! That is what a preteen whines when they want a cool new video game or a 16 year old says when they want to borrow the car...not what a 2 year and 9 month old says. Is it bad that I correct her and say mommy? I just want to be mommy for a couple more years.... Being called mom just makes me sad.
