Caleb's (2nd) haircut

A haircut is also known as torture for C. He is NOT a fan. I'm pretty sure the people next door heard how much he disliked getting his haircut. Also I was holding him, so Andy was telling her how short to cut it. Next time, it will be the other way around. :p

At first he was like, oh cool I get to sit in this cool car.

Then he said: a what?! A haircut?!! I don't want no stinkin' haircut!!!

After pics!! There are no pictures during the actual haircut because it was traumatizing for all involved.

Andy likes it straight down. I think it makes him look like a dork.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a low-key family Thanksgiving. Probably the quietest Thanksgiving we have had in years. It was nice having Andy home and soooo nice not being sick or pregnant this year. It was our first Thanksgiving as a family of 5!

Happy 8 months, C

This baby is a wild man. In the past week or so he has started real crawling (not his wounded soldier army crawl), pulling up, and cruising. I can't keep up with him. Today he decided to try out climbing stairs. Pretty sure he will master that quickly if he gets a chance.

If you put something up to block him, he tries to crawl over it or go through it by headbutting it. He's a baby bulldozer. He pulled up in his crib last week and was standing on his bumper. His crib is now at the lowest setting. He needs to slow down! He's my last baby but he's trying to be a toddler already. He's already too heavy for me to lift in the carrier anymore. He has outgrown the bouncy seat and rock n play. I'm not ready for him to start growing up yet!

At least he is still a total mama's boy. Separation anxiety has definitely kicked in and some days I can't even leave the room without him screaming. He reaches for me and melts my heart. I'm such a softie. I should have buff arms by now. We bought him an activity table which he loves but I'm still his favorite toy.

He also loves food. He would rather have table food than a bottle. If we are eating, he better get some finger foods too. If it has a straw, he wants to drink it. So far he likes everything he's tried except baby food green beans. He really likes carrots and sweet potatoes (baby food and the real thing steamed).

He definitely lets you know when he isn't happy and wants something. He usually recovers pretty quickly when upset unless he is very tired. We're still working out the whole bedtime thing. His sleeping at night is not great and very inconsistent. I'm tired. He still wants to sleep with me for an afternoon nap and sleeps great once he settles down. He'd probably sleep well at night if he slept with me but that is not my thing. He still has no teeth. This kid has been teething since 3-4 months. He gnaws on everything and drools everywhere. He is also a total paci addict which is part of the sleep issue because I'm going in to put it back in at night.

He has a yucky nose so last night wasn't so great. He wasn't as smiley for pics. (I'm exhausted too, buddy.) Plus he would NOT hold still. He kept trying to crawl away. I can't keep him in one place for long. These pics took a group effort. lol

Happy 33rd birthday, Andy!

Andy (finally) turned 33. I get teased from April 1-Nov 9 about being older. Now it's my 6 months of relief from the old jokes. ;) For his birthday we had cake and played pin the tail on the donkey. We went to our first ice hockey game and cheered on the Rampage! It was pretty cool and we had great seats (6 rows back from the penalty box aka "time out").

End of season stuff

Yay! Hooray! Woo hoo! Football and cheer are over. Did I mention I am so glad? ;) Avery cheered at Evan's last game then we headed to his football party at a local pizza place. The kids had fun. Then we had a final ice cream social last week where coaches gave medals out to their players/team. This is our first Tuesday without football or cheer stuff in two months. I don't miss it yet. :)
