Bowling!

We went bowling last week too. I had my worst game EVER. I was in a bit of a mood after a less than successful appointment with a new urologist. More on that later.

Miniature Golf

Our first fun Spring Break activity was dinner out with the neighbors and mini golf. A&E were speed golfers. I didn't golf because I was trying to keep up with them. They loved it!

Funny Convo

I know I've been MIA again. We are just finishing up Spring Break so we have stayed extra busy. I'll be able to catch up next week. I had to post about this sweet conversation I overheard between A&E yesterday.

We were heading to the gym and they were in the backseat of the car.
A: Mom, I want to be a teacher and cheerleader when I grow up.
Me: I love that idea!
E: You can cheer for me because I will be a football player.
A: I will NOT cheer for the Redskins.
E: Ok I'll play for another team. The Patriots?
Andy: Not the Patriots!
Me: How about the Cowboys since they have the best stadium?
E: No Cowboys!
Me: How about Green Bay since they are a neutral team.
E: Ok, Green Bay!

lol It's all worked out now.

Little workers

In an effort to eat healthier, I have a green monster smoothie for breakfast before the gym. The extra protein helps me not get so hungry by 10 am. For the smoothie, I need frozen bananas so I put A&E to work. It's a win-win. They work on fine motor skills and I get my chopped up bananas to freeze ahead of time. lol

I think Avery assumed it would be like a sweatshop because she came out like this.

I've tried a couple different versions so far but this recipe is by far my favorite. You seriously cannot even taste the spinach. Even Avery is a big fan (and she's in a major picky phase).

Happy St. Patrick's Day

We celebrated St Patrick's Day at a housewarming party for a friend. A&E thought being able to pinch anyone who wasn't wearing green was great.

Beginning Readers

I L-O-V-E to read. I have a slight addiction to the library and love the smell of books. It is my happy place. So I am very excited that A&E are learning to read. I want them to love books too!

I go to the library every week to check out new books for bedtime stories and reading practice. The Dick and Jane Treasury I found is perfect for them!

Andy picked up these C-130 models at Michael's the other day as a project for him to do with A&E. They were perfect because everything just pops together. They loved having a project to do with daddy. Plus it's "daddy's plane".

Spring Soccer

Spring soccer has started! A&E had their first practice on Saturday morning. There are 3 new kids on their team so we will have a new name (that is still in the works). We went last weekend to buy new cleats and shin guards (why are my children growing so quickly??).

Andy is the assistant coach and I am team mom again. Yes, we are that family. ;)

Someone got a bit tired

His first HALF!

Andy decided last week to run a half marathon this weekend. This shouldn't be a shock to me since a few years ago, he decided to do a triathlon with maybe a week of training. However a half marathon is 13.1 miles. He runs a lot but usually he takes Murphy around the block for 3 or 4 miles. I decided to trust him since he has iron lungs and the kids and I went to cheer him on at the finish line.

Apparently the LR Marathon is a huge deal. They have a kids run, 5K, 10K, half marathon, and marathon. You have to sign up pretty far in advance to get a spot. They had 4200 runners just for the half marathon. Andy had looked up the info but missed the sign up. Then a friend of his decided he didn't want to do it, so Andy said he would take his place. So Andy/Jake ran the half today. :)

Andy came in #458 and he's fast (8 minute miles and it was cold and windy). So these other runners are crazy fast. We missed him crossing the finish line because that place was a madhouse. We caught up with him right as he finished.
