36 weeks

Ah 36 weeks...the time when A&E were born. I am officially the most pregnant I have ever been. You want to know how it feels? Not so great. Well I am glad I made it this far but my body is less than thrilled. I am so uncomfortable and tired (as you will see in the picture). Just being this big is uncomfortable but the round the clock contractions are really wearing me down.

Andy installed the carseat this weekend so baby boy has a ride home. His clothes are washed. The pack n play is set up so he has a place to sleep. We have the basics covered.

I had an ob appointment yesterday and saw the nurse practitioner. I was told 1 more week of bedrest (Andy complained they keep saying 1 more week) but according to them, I'm 37 weeks today and 38 weeks is even better. All the bedrest must be working because I was only 2.5 cm dilated and still 80% effaced. Baby boy is at -1 station though so his head is right there (she thought maybe that is what all these contractions are doing, putting him into position). So 1 more week of bedrest and maybe if we name this baby, he can come out.

Oh how we have grown :p

35 weeks

I've gotten behind again. 35 weeks pregnant was a little crazy. I ended up in labor & delivery late Thursday night and again Sunday morning for contractions. They slowed down the contractions Thursday night with a shot of terbutaline. If you've had it, you understand how miserable it can be. If you haven't, I don't wish that on you. I felt horrible for a couple days afterward. I still feel pretty rotten but it isn't from the shot now. I'm basically on bedrest trying to keep the contractions controlled. Sunday they pretty much said they won't stop labor now so I'm doing what I can at home (laying down and staying hydrated). I was told by nurses and doctors to rest as much as possible. They never said official bedrest but getting more than a vague suggestion from them would be a miracle. The only way I can find to slow down the contractions is completely laying down as much as possible.

I'm about 2cm and 80% effaced right now (for those interested in a cervix update). The dilation doesn't seem to be as much of a concern as the effacement. I'm around 36 weeks now so things are looking good. The short term goal is to make it to 37 weeks but I'd like to go longer if possible. Boys don't mature as quickly as girls (from the get go apparently) so baby boy, yet to be named, will do much better the longer he stays baking. When I saw my ob for my now weekly appointments nothing had changed. I see him again next Tuesday.

On top of the lovely, round the clock contractions, I have a cold. Sneezing and coughing during a contraction is not the most pleasant feeling. I've been running a humidifier so I can breathe (as if breathing while hugely pregnant wasn't difficult enough). So Andy is on duty. He's been flying this week so I manage to get the kids to school and pick them up but otherwise I am in bed. I'm sure he's getting tired of bedrest. I know A&E are tired of it. At least one of them ask me every day when this baby will be born. The only one loving bedrest is Joey. It's his idea of paradise for us to lay in bed all day. I will admit the break was nice for a day or two. Almost a week later and I am bored and feeling useless.

The good news is baby boy has a place to sleep and a carseat to come home in when he does arrive. Now we just wait out this last week (or hopefully more).

Still getting bigger at 35+ weeks

34 weeks

I'm a total blog slacker lately. I have pics and videos to upload but that takes a lot of effort that I don't have the energy for lately. This pregnancy thing is draining! I'm growing daily and I am so uncomfortable. I am very nauseous again and have to take meds a couple times a day to manage it. I started having contractions this past weekend. Andy was packing a bag to head to L&D but they slowed down thank goodness! A couple of my friends threw us a baby shower on Sunday and it was fun. We got all kinds of cute stuff for baby boy no name. Yes he still does not have a name.
I saw my doc yesterday and I am a fingertip dilated and he reminded me I need to make it to 37 weeks for this baby to be nice and healthy. I know that! and am doing what I can to rest and stay hydrated. I could possibly have a baby sometime soon. That is freaking me out a bit. I ordered the carseat and we are going to get the pack n play soon. Guess it is time to get motivated and prepped!!

Home Depot Workshop

Saturday we went to a Home Depot Kid's Workshop after Evan's basketball game. This was our first one and it was packed! A&E had a great time though. I couldn't have taken them myself. Andy did most of the helping! He only got a few smashed fingers for holding the nail while they hammered. lol

32 and 33 weeks

Baby boy is growing quickly now. I feel like I'm getting bigger by the day. It's hard work growing a baby. I'm so tired. Still nauseous and oh the soda cravings are much worse now that Andy is home and it's in our house again. Sometimes I just have to smell it. Weird, right? This baby is getting rowdy in there. I feel a lot of rolls, punches, kicks, and pushing. He has the hiccups a lot which is great for him since he is practicing breathing but they can get a tad annoying for me. I go back to the ob next week then I will start weekly appointments and it gets serious. Sometimes I am so ready to not be pregnant anymore and sometimes I think how it is much easier to take care of a baby on the inside. We finally registered and I think we decided on where this baby will sleep. Everything is so up in the air with us waiting on orders and not knowing when and where we will have to move. Still no name.

100th day!

Wednesday was the 100th day of school for A&E! They had a fun day of activities at school. For homework, they made these t-shirts with 100 things on them. They also had to bring in a snack of 100 things.
