Gymnastics for C

C and I tried out a parent tot gymnastics class on base. I also like to call it ninja training. I thought he would love it but an activity where he cannot do whatever he wants is not well received. (sigh) Maybe when he matures a bit we can try again. 

One of his favorites was hanging on the bar or rings. He's strong!

There was also a lot of pouting and tantrums when he didn't get to do what he wanted. 

I think it may have been more work for me. I was glad we only tried 2 classes. 

3rd Grade Christmas Program

Life happens and the blogging doesn't. I've been so busy and my laptop is just a pain to use. 

A&E had their 3rd grade Christmas program today. They took their parts very seriously!

3rd grade, here we come

A&E were excited about starting 3rd grade. This is the first year they will be in separate classes. I admit I was probably more nervous than them because now I have two teachers to stay in contact with and I know the homework will sometimes vary depending on the teacher. I cannot believe I have 3rd graders. It just seems so old!

Mommy school

We have been doing mommy school so a&e don't get rusty before 3rd grade! 

Today we did a science experiment and made snow! It was a hit! (And a mess)

Hey batter, batter

A&E had their first season of baseball this summer!  Their team was co-ed and they were the first base team to start playing rec league teams from off base.  It was kid pitch which was a first for them too.  E enjoyed it but A was not a fan.  She did finish out the season but said she will not play baseball again.

They are ready for 3rd grade!! They both won various awards in their class but I'm most proud of the citizenship award they received. It was voted on by classmates. It's good to know they are well liked and good kids!!

C goes to school

As I mentioned, C started "school". It's a class of 2-3 year olds who go a few mornings a week. It took him a couple weeks to warm up to not being with me but now he loves it.

It's summer!

I can't keep up on here it seems. We're doing well. C is loving "school". He goes a few mornings a week and it's a nice break. He goes year round so it's great to spend some time with A&E. 

A&E are out of school and have already done vbs and camps. They're finishing up baseball soon (thank goodness).

Spring Soccer 2015

A&E had the fastest soccer season yet. For soccer on base, the age groups are 3-4, 5-7, and 8-11. This is a huge age gap if you have kids who just turned 5 and kids who will soon turn 8. We didn't want another season of them playing with the young kids because they hold back in fear of hurting someone. Honestly it is a waste of time and talent for them to not really play when they are on the field. We went through this whole process of getting a waiver because they would turn 8 in the middle of the season. Really the USAF just enjoys paperwork and red tape. It was approved, then not approved, approved, then not approved. They were basically yanking us around. It ended up being that they could play once they turned 8 so they only had 4 games left in the season. The weather hasn't been great here so they ended up with 2 make up games on Saturday and a game on Monday and Tuesday. So they pretty much had their soccer season in 4 days. What a whirlwind! They were definitely the youngest in the age bracket but they are pretty good so they were an asset to their team. It was nice seeing them be able to get out there and give it their best. The field and goals are much bigger, the players are more intense, and some have decent skills. I like when they have a challenge.
