Our big kids start 1st grade tomorrow. They are ready. I think we are ready too. Their friends in Arkansas, started last week. They started in Mississippi a couple weeks ago.
Friday night we went and met their teacher and looked around the school. It will definitely be different. We were hoping they could ride the bus but due to wonderful sequestration, the bussing is VERY limited. I may see what I can do once school starts about the afternoon bus because I have to walk them in to take them and to pick them up. That will really mess with C's schedule. Poor kid gets dragged around everywhere. They have P.E. for 45 minutes every day. They must want to get these kids in good shape. They get 35 minutes for lunch too. That will be nice! Their special classes are art, music, library, computers, and Spanish! I love that!
The backpacks are out with new school year paperwork completed, supplies (so many supplies) were delivered on Friday, and their lunch boxes are out and ready to be packed. I cannot believe we have 1st graders now. I feel old.
They are excited and nervous. It is a comfort to them (and me) that they have each other. They chose to stay together again this year so they have a built-in friend.
Their bedtime story tonight was Twas the Night Before First Grade :)
