A&E did a couple of sessions of swim lessons on base this summer. All I can say is a year makes a huge difference. Evan just decided he is going to be brave and swim. He jumps off the diving board on his own and swims to the side. It's awesome! Avery was doing ok then decided she was the scared one (they flip flop on stuff like this a lot). She is actually a good swimmer and can hold her breath a long time. She'll jump off the diving board if someone is there to "catch her".
The sessions are 6 days (over a 2 week span). We LOVED Mr PJ who helped in the first session and managed the pool. Sadly he left to go back to college and do a summer class. Who needs college when you can teach my kids to swim?! I wasn't impressed with the last session so we are finished for the summer. A&E weren't making progress and frankly I was tired of getting up to have them on base by 8am for the lessons.
We went to Lake Tobias with Grandpa Wayne and Cheryl. It was such a cool place. We loved all the animals and the safari tour!
This little guy was ADORABLE! I wanted to take him home
Of course they loved the petting zoo
Andy did too lol
Safari fun
